Families are making the move to Belize !

Yes, they are.. it is interesting to me- as when I moved to Belize over a decade ago, people were shocked i did so with 2 teenagers.
Now, i see families moving to Belize, and wonder if i was just ahead of the times !

This family pictured are Expat travelers. They move to different Countries with their Children, giving them an experience of actually living amongst different cultures.

Belize Talk Radio features the stories of people that have moved to Belize. You can listen here to the shows here.

The 3 main reasons i have seen why folks are Moving to Belize  with Children are:

1) Cost of Living is lower- with a better quality of life as to less stress working to make a living

2) Fresh Foods and Local Markets

3) Opportunity to live in a new culture that speaks English ( important for Children to immerse into the local school system and culture)

I actually asked myself, would i have liked to LIVE in a foreign country growing up ? The answer i get, was that growing up near Embassy row in the DC area- i was blessed to have such a great multi cultural experience. I am honored that moving to Belize gave my Children a taste of this.

Have you ever dreamed of living in Belize ?

I hear folks say Belize should have this,, and Belize should do this,,, I think what people forget is Belize is very young in comparison to many Countries-
We just got out Independence from the United Kingdom on September 21, 1981.
Interestingly, when i lived in the USA- and my family being from Canada- we did not feel right when someone would say we need to do, or should do something.

So, my sharing thought for you, is if you are looking to move to Belize, read true accounts like this one without rose colored glasses on, named Moving to Belize
and for heaven's sakes, come and visit, and live like a local- before you throw that hat over the wall like i Did !

My blessing was i moved to Belize, to help people, not change them.... so, if you are wanting to live life fully- and get along with folks- then come and see why folks like us love BELIZE!
